Pennsylvania natives Kelsey and Alexis met the old fashioned way—at a bar in Philly, watching the Eagles game during Thanksgiving break. Though the couple now calls New York City home, Philadelphia was both where they met and lived together for the first time, so the ladies wanted to return to the city for their special day. It was then their sky-high hopes for the ultimate wedding that led them to Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia and Stratus Rooftop Lounge. The brides worked with the hotel’s wedding specialist, Desiree, to make their dream wedding come true, including a signature cocktail and drink wall, some iconic Vanderpump Rules-inspired wedding photos, and live music on the rooftop on the last summer evening of the year.

Between the joyous celebration on the rooftop, the intimate moments the newlyweds shared together in the Vapor Lounge, and the wedding prep and R&R in the hotel’s Corner Bedroom Suite, Kelsey and Alexis enjoyed an unforgettable time at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia. “We’ll certainly be back every year to relive the best day/ weekend of our lives,” they enthused.

Memorable Details

Kelsey & Alexis shared the Corner Bedroom Suite for their dual wedding prep. They loved the view of the Liberty Bell and the stunning natural light pouring into the room. The ladies ordered bites from Red Owl Tavern throughout the day to fuel their wedding glam session and enjoyed the company of friends and family.

Desiree was the absolute best throughout the entire process. She made us feel safe and seen during the months (almost years!) of planning, and was truly a miracle worker the day of the wedding. The second we needed anything, she was always there, even before we knew to ask for help.

Stratus Lounge offered the perfect cool, city vibe that we wanted, while also allowing both of us to walk down the aisle with our families the way we always envisioned.

Stratus Lounge on Hotel Monaco’s rooftop was the scene for multiple wedding events, from cocktail hour—where guests enjoyed the couple’s signature cocktail, a pink prosecco drink in a Champagne flute—to the ceremony, to the jubilant reception. “The ceremony took place under the wings and brought almost everyone to tears,” said the couple.

As with any superstar couple, Kelsey and Alexis combined their two last names (McDonald and Lyons, respectively) into a chic portmanteau: McLyons. Their signature cocktail was even presented on a custom drink wall with the McLyons name in neon light. The reception began with introducing the newlyweds with their new couple name, and from there it was speeches, toasts, delicious food and of course, dancing the night away under the stars.
